Around Lake Titicaca, Peru

Around Lake Titicaca, Peru

Hi everyone,

Way way back – one of my favorite Dutch television programs called Peking Express was filmed in Peru. This sounds a bit weird; the concept of the television program can be best described as couples who signed up for a hitchhike competition – (originally started in Peking and around the Peking Express railway) – but to keep the concept updated they chose to film in other countries for the other seasons. Anyways, back in 2007 I fell in love with the images of Peru and especially the Machu Picchu. In November 2015 this dream came true. I traveled to Lima, Cusco, Aguas Calientes and the Machu Picchu, to Puno and Lake Titicaca and ended my trip in Arequipa. If I see pictures of Peru they are almost all taken at the Machu Picchu which I understand because it is one of the coolest and most magical spots on earth. I will definitely write a blogpost about that later on. Less shown on for example instagram is Lake Titicaca which is also beautiful, picture worthy and yes a bit touristic as well. My favourite things to do in Buenos Aires

My favourite things to do in Buenos Aires

(Photo: Buenos Aires vibes and music)

Hi Everyone,

I never get bored of Buenos Aires. Actually the more often I visit this city, the more I like it. The first time I visited Buenos Aires was in 2014 during a short 2-weeks backpack trip all by myself. At that time I stayed at the Millhouse hostel – the most fun party hostel of Buenos Aires (which is a great place if you travel alone – you never have to feel alone and  have the opportunity to meet people and hang out / do some sightseeing stuff / have dinner and party with people all the time). From 2015 and on I went back almost every year due to my flight attendant job (now I have the opportunity to stay in a beautiful hotel) on 8 day layovers, with a turnaround Santiago de Chili in between.(Nothing is sponsored, all pictures are taken by me, scroll down for the Dutch story and different photos).

Tourists have more fun in Beijing

Tourists have more fun in Beijing

(Photo: Jumping across the Great Wall of China)

Hi everyone,

As you may have read in a previous blog I ended my TransMongolian Express trip in UlaanBaatar instead of Beijing as I did not have enough time. Besides that I went to Beijing already two times (in 2009 and in 2014). In the future I will fly to Beijing for work as well due to an aircraft change. Not mentioning I love Beijing and China. However the first time I visited China in particular, I was 19 years old and a student in Seoul, South-Korea – I felt completely lost in Beijing as it was very cold (December), I got immediately ripped off by a illegal taxi driver and worst thing – my camera got stolen after the Beijing trip in Shanghai! All my pictures of for example the Great wall were gone! Now I’m older, more experienced, I do not get a culture shock very fast  and more careful with my belongings. I felt so terrible still after years about losing my pictures – that I forced my boyfriend to spend our holidays in China in the year 2014 so I could re-take my pictures again. (Nothing is sponsored, all pictures are mine, scroll down for the Dutch version)

A Tropical Getaway – Hello Mauritius!

A Tropical Getaway – Hello Mauritius!

(Photo: Ile Aux Cerfs)

Hi everyone,

The weather in the Netherlands is ice cold and grey these days – very depressing! Time to pack my bags and escape to the sun! I had to do some homework first – since I’m pregnant I cannot visit any destinations with a risk of getting Zika, healthcare needs to be good in case something happens with the baby, the risk of food poisoning should be minimal and I cannot do a lot of activities as I’m not allowed to do a lot of watersports, next level hiking etc. As some things cost just too much energy with ligament pain due to a kicking baby in my belly – tropical Mauritius is a perfect option! Let the babymoon begin! (Nothing is sponsored, all pictures are mine, scroll down for the Dutch version and different photo’s).

The TransMongolian Express – Part 7 – The Last day in Ulaanbaatar Mongolia

The TransMongolian Express – Part 7 – The Last day in Ulaanbaatar Mongolia

Hi Everyone,

After the amazing trip to the Terelj National Park we got dropped off at the Holiday Inn Hotel in UlaanBaatar. Luckily our room was available before check-in time (YAY) so we could enjoy a good hot shower in our luxury big bathroom and take a powernap in a comfortable big soft hotelbed before jumping into the citycenter. This felt amazing! From this moment I realized how tired I was and how intensive this trip was. (Nothing is sponsored, all pictures are taken by me – scroll down for the Dutch version and different photos).

Hi Everyone,

If you think about Mongolia you think about the traditional yurts, open fields and steppe landscapes, horses, nomads, mongolian colorful interiors, ovoos (what?) and falcons…….(Nothing is sponsored – all pictures are taken by me – scroll down for the Dutch version and different photo’s!)
